Day 78 - New Daily Reading

So, because of the new realization, I decided I needed to revamp the page that I include in my daily reading, along with my scriptures and patriarchal blessing. I’m not sure what to call it, but essentially, it is along the lines of a personal vision or mission statement and/or prayer. It is a page that helps me get in the right mindset each day, at the beginning of the day. It’s designed to help me remember the importance of each day, of each decision, and to remember the daily battle of My Will vs. Thy Will. I can’t express enough how important daily vigilance and remembering are.

So, here’s my writing:

My Daily Battle – Thy Will, O Lord, not mine, be done.

Let me not forget, O Lord, the importance of today. I will remember the captivity of my fathers, and especially my own captivity, that I might be humble today. I will remember thee and thy sacrifice, and I plead for thy Spirit to be with me, to help me remember. Please help me remember thee in my hour or moment of temptation, so that I can choose to humble myself, to surrender myself to thee in that moment, and be filled with thy love, power and strength. I am filled with love. I love thee, because thou first loved me. I thank thee for my life, and for my bounteous blessings!

I am surrounded by so many blessings! It amazes me what thou hast blessed me with. A beautiful family, a wonderful wife who is so strong, supportive, faithful and pure, incredible children who bring such bright and happy moments to each and every day; indeed, every time I think of them!, a warm and secure home in a beautiful neighborhood, and lastly, opportunities and blessings abounding before me.

Therefore, I now commit to Thee to the following steps for the next year

Step 1 – I commit to read this page, and my patriarchal blessing, EVERY day for one year
Step 2 – I commit to study my scriptures EVERY day for one year
Step 3 – I commit to pray each morning and night in humility and gratitude, on my knees, in meaningful, personal prayer.

By small and simple things are great things brought to pass! Each day is a small thing, and I will take it day by day, one day at a time. But I must have the overall goal of one year, that I might better remember and understand the power of each day after day after day, for the synergistic sum of all the parts is so far greater together than individually. Like compound interest, each successfully executed day builds and compounds upon the previous one. EVERY DAY IS CRITICAL!

I ask Thee, Lord, for thy blessing and help, for the strength to endure, for the ability to remember, and for the commitment and character to persist anyway, even if I do forget for a day.

I AM BECOMING A MIGHTY POWER FOR GOOD!
